Welcome message from the IPCRG President

After our hugely successful meeting in Seville 2008, the IPCRG looks forward to our next full-scale biennial meeting in Toronto 2010. And plans are already well underway for the 2012 meeting in Edinburgh!
The volume and quality of primary care focused, real life and academic research now associated with IPCRG members and friends, is immensely encouraging. To keep the momentum of our meetings and to provide researchers with an annual outlet for their work, the IPCRG will now host additional scientific meetings in intervening years.
In response to feedback this meeting will also include 2 new concepts. Firstly, we wanted to allow researchers to present research ideas that need further discussion with peers. Secondly, there is much quality improvement or service delivery enhancement work being undertaken in primary care respiratory disease.
The first of these "no embellishments" meetings will be held at Stansted airport, UK, 5th June 2009. The day will give us the opportunity to hear and see presentations of the latest research.
Our conference hotel will host the meeting, the social activities and the overnight accommodation. Its unique position close to an airport with many low-cost flight options and its agreeable facilities are in keeping with the meeting ethos.
If you are interested in clinical focused respiratory research or improving the quality of respiratory services, please join us in June. If you wish to present research work, research ideas or quality improvement initiatives abstracts will be accepted right up until the 20 May 2009 deadline so please submit your work and then join us in June! You'll be most welcome.
