Oslo, the capital of Norway, offers a unique
combination of an intimate village atmosphere
and the pulsating life of an international
metropolis. The proximity to the Oslo fjord,
with charming islands, hills and surrounding
forests, adds a scenic experience and multiple
recreational opportunities all year round for
visitors and inhabitants alike.
The history of Oslo goes back 1000 years, so the
2006 IPCRG World Conference will take place in
one of the oldest capitals of the Nordic
Countries.
Oslo can offer a wide range of
museums and sights worth visiting, such as the
Munch Museum, home of the famous painting
The Scream, the Viking Ship Museum, the
Vigeland Sculpture Park and the Astrup Fernley
Museum of Modern Art. Oslo is also the home of
the Nobel Peace Prize.
The city centre is small and compact and most
hotels, restaurants, shopping areas and
entertainment are within walking distance.
The 2006 IPCRG World Conference venue is the
Radisson SAS Plaza Hotel located in the city
centre.
