Occupational Asthma: from national strategy to the world's first evidence-based guidelines
The British Occupational Health Research Foundation (BOHRF) multidisciplinary research working group was formed in April 2003 with Guidelines for the prevention, identification & management of occupational asthma being launched at the Royal College of General Practitioners in London on September 14 2004 and available online at: http://www.bohrf.org.uk/content/asthma.htm. The BOHRF systematic review addresses specific key questions of relevance to occupational health and safety professionals, general practitioners and employers, workers and their representatives. The evidence review and the 22 recommendations derived from it aim is to provide a robust approach to the prevention, identification and management of occupational asthma, based on and using the best available medical evidence. The recommendations are attached.
