I. Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) The 2007 guidelines are not much changed from 2006. The major change was from the 2005 → 2006 guidelines, which emphasize assessing, treating, and monitoring patients based on level of asthma control rather than asthma severity (www.ginasthma.org).
