has been a GP for 20 years. Medical journalist, family doctor's tutor, mediator, AED-instructor. Special interests: pelvic floor, obesities, asthma and children. Lives as co-parent of two little children on island in northern Netherlands, rural area (more sheep than patients). Experienced in fundraising for medical projects in Eastern Europe and recently, Africa.

Dr Mike Thomas
is a GP in Gloucestershire, UK, and GPIAG Clinical Research Fellow, University of Aberdeen. He divides his time between clinical practice, including a hospital respiratory clinic, and respiratory clinical research. His research interests centre on practical respiratory topics of importance to primary care practitioners. He is a member of the GPIAG general and research committees.

Dr Miguel Román Rodríguez
specialised as a family and community doctor and currently working in a primary care practice in Palma de Mallorca, the Spanish famous and marvellous Mediterranean island, as a GP and family doctor's tutor. He leads the Grupo Respiratorio Balear trying to carry out some respiratory clinical research and to train colleagues in respiratory fields. He is also a member of the Spanish Grupo de Respiratorio and editor of some national and international publications.

qualified as a doctor in South Africa 1974, and is a general practitioner in London (part time since April 2006). He is editor for the GPIAG (www.gpiag.org), Senior Clinical Research Fellow, Division of Community Health Sciences:GP Section, University of Edinburgh, UK and a keen wildlife photographer (www.animalswild.com).
