Dr Lucia Gorreto
is a specialist in family and community medicine and currently director in a primary care practice in Palma de Mallorca. Her research activities in asthma, spirometry and tobacco cessation are carried out in Caubet-CIMERA respiratory foundation where she is a research fellow. She is also involved in the Balearic strategic plans for tobacco and COPD. She is part of the Grupo Respiratorio Balear and Spanish Grupo de Respiratorio trying to train other colleagues in respiratory fields

Dr Kristin Alise Jakobsen
passed her medical exam 2005, in Tromsoe, Norway and is currently a General practitioner in Bodoe, Norway, and a Ph.D student at the General Practice Research Unit, Dept of Community Medicine, University of Tromsoe, Norway. Her Ph.D project concerns antibiotic treatment of respiratory tract infection and the use of near-patient-testing in respiratory tract infection (CRP).

Dr Janwillem Kocks
is a general practitioner at the Academic General Practice at the University Medical Center Groningen, Groningen, The Netherlands. His research projects focus on health status in COPD and changing routine practice towards more health status driven care. He works as consultant for projects in which medicine meets IT.

Dr Mark L Levy (Consulting Editor) (www.consultmarklevy.com)
qualified as a doctor in South Africa 1974, and is a general practitioner in London (part time since April 2006). He is Emeritus Editor for the Primary Care Respiratory Journal (www.thepcrj.org), Senior Clinical Research Fellow, Division of Community Health Sciences:GP Section, University of Edinburgh, UK and a keen wildlife photographer (www.animalswild.com).
